Another DIY: flower baby head bands

Another project that I have been working on is flower baby head bands.
I think that these head bands are just too cute (for EXAMPLE). I researched where to buy them and I did find some websites that sell them, but I decided to be thrifty and set out to make one myself.

And then I got addicted...
First I purchased the head bands ($2) at Wal-mart. These head bands are actually made for a baby's head.
I then found some large multi-colored gerbera daisies ($2) in the floral department.
(It was slim pickins!)
I just used some cutesy buttons I had laying around the house ($0).
So for less than $5 bucks I made a flower baby head band which saved me at least $12 (plus s&h).

Jubilation ensues!

It cost me a couple dollars more to make the wren white rosette (above), but I wanted to try something different.
I purchased six 3 inch doilies from JoAnn's (99 cents each), which I then sewed together to form a rosette.
I used a decorative scrap-booking brad instead of a button in the center of the rosette (once again, just something I had on hand - $0).

When the dust finally settled, I had made four flower baby head bands and was pleased as a pickle!

I am looking forward to improving my technique and experimenting with some different kinds of flowers.

By the way, did you catch the hint I slipped in about baby cake's name?
Shh,don't tell Mr. M!

Current picture of the bump. She is really getting her exercise in- constantly moving.

I love it.

Hey Thanks!
BTW, I am using Picasa 3 now. It is free also. Not a bad collage maker. Very comparable to Shutterfly Studio.
