DIY: Chandelier Revamp

This is another project I completed earlier in the summer. This little item was another one of those desires of the heart - but one that was completely a "luxury item" that was totally unnecessary.
HOWEVER,  I have this secret weapon- her name is Mandy. She is the luckiest thrifter I know... seriously. I asked her to keep an eye out for a medium sized chandelier when she was out shopping. The next day or so, she called me and said she found one.

Well, I have to tell you, after she quoted the price tag,  I had to think long and hard about it.
Finally feeling clear on this major purchase, I reluctantly dug $2.50 in assorted change out of my car ash tray and said, "Yes, please!"

Two dollars and fifty cents... thank you, Jesus!

It was brass, but it had good bones. I spray painted her white and found a few lamp shades in light tan. I decided it needed a little something more, so I made little bows for the lamp shades and sewed on glass tear drop beads to add some whimsy and sparkle.

I love it.

You can see the final product in the finished nursery... coming soon!

How many times have I wished for Mandy's skills! I don't visit our thrift store without thinking of her... she's a dear as well as an amazing shopper :>)

Beautiful Jodi! I love chandeliers in nurseries! Always wanted one, but we have to have the fan instead...being as we are in South FL! :-) So, so excited for you guys!

Thank you, Robyn. I also debated in my mind whether or not to go with a fan. But when Mandy found this, I couldn't say no.

If we were in FL... I would definitly go with the fan. ;)
